T-Boz: Thoughts

“The poems cover a whole range of topics: Love, relationships, heartbreak, body image, family, society, abortion, and many other things. They each mean a lot to me, and I hope they inspire you and give you a different perspective on what’s going on around you. You’ll find a little bit of yourself or someone you know”.
T-Boz
In 1999 T-Boz from the group TLC published a book called, “Thoughts.” The book reflected information about her life. Her topics included growing up without her father, her mother, loss of her grandmother, and her battle with Sickle Cell Anemia. Several chapters included her biography and other chapters included her personal poems.

Her book is for her diehard fans. It covered everyday situations teens go through. I was disappointed in the book. I expected more from her poems and the lack of expression disappointed me. I couldn’t believe she released her poems being that horrible.

As an artist she is talented. She has excellent songwriting capabilities and she’s creative in the music industry. As a poetic she needs a lot of work. She did an excellent job discussing issues and situations she goes through daily. If she omitted the poems I think her book might of made the New York Times Best Sellers List.

I would not recommend this book!

I like that you tell it like it is and that you don't simply just endorse the poems regardless of whether you liked them or not.
